End of the Year Awards for Teachers

Usually the end of the year is such a whirlwind that I don't get a chance to do teacher awards. I always have good intentions but geesh, you know how the end of the year goes. So..... lucky for me over at TeachersPayTeachers.com I came across Reagan Tunstall's Candy Awards! These are specifically for students but I went ahead and put teachers names on them to hand out tomorrow. It was pretty easy to match the award to the teacher and it should be fun to hand these out. I thought it would be great to model and end of the year celebration the teachers can use next year:)

Sharing Carnival Ideas

Last night we hosted our 2nd successful school carnival. Whew! Carnivals are a lot of work and we will probably take a break for a year and try something else. But for those of you putting on a carnival soon here are our events and other stuff....

Duck pond! Isn't this a great and very simple version of this activity? The kids loved it just as much as if it were a big pool:)

Treasure dig

First aid for fun:)

Salon and spa! Face and nail painting

Our version of the toilet paper toss

Angry birds

These were our most unique to share.

How Full is Your Bucket?

At the beginning of the year I read the kids version of How Full is Your Bucket? We tied this in to our character education program. Students who were caught modeling monthly character traits were given a "drop" for the bucket. Each month the drop was a different color and students were recognized during our monthly Tiger Pride assembly. With only 2 weeks of school left this is what our bucket looks like to end the year...

Teacher Appreciation 2012

Wow! What an amazing week my PTO put on for my teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week 2012!
We celebrated a week early so that we did not interfere with preparation for our school carnival.
Daily teacher treats:

Each day it was also "eat alot of something" but this is just one picture of the goodies

And this picture does not even do the week justice:)
THANK YOU Sarah Bohl for all your hard work.

Candy Treats for State Testing

Every year we put together little candy grams for the students during testing week. This year we included our student council in helping with the preparations.....

Teacher Tech Training

Last week we hosted a teacher tech training. We talked about management of Netbooks and iPads in the classroom at the beginning of the year. Below are resources we used.

Each classroom has an iPad. This was our first year using them with students.

Our district goal for elementary is for each grade level to have a cart of Netbooks to use.
